Frequently Asked Questions
To ensure the best results from your treatment at Cucullu Aesthetic, please review the following guidelines before and after your facial. These tips help you protect your skin, prolong results, and enjoy a safe, relaxing experience.
Before Your Facial
Avoid Botox or dermal fillers for at least 2 weeks before your facial. This allows time for injectables to settle correctly and avoids any unintended effects from massage or stimulation.
After Fillers: Lip fillers are typically not affected, but facials on other injected areas should be avoided for at least 2 weeks to prevent unwanted movement or changes to the filler placement.
Come with clean skin, if possible. If you’re wearing makeup, no worries—we’ll gently remove it during your treatment.
Hydrate well on the day of your appointment for glowing results.
Inform us if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, on medication (like Accutane or antibiotics), or have had any recent procedures or allergies. This helps us customize your treatment safely.
Lash Extensions: Facials are safe with lash extensions, but it’s best to schedule facials toward the end of your lash cycle, before your next fill. Although we take care to protect your lashes, steam, water, and oil-based products can reduce retention, especially on freshly done lashes.
If this is your first facial ever, be aware that it is possible to purge after the facial. Purging is just your body’s way of ridding itself of any leftover impurities in the skin. It can often look like a bad breakout as symptoms include whiteheads, blackheads, and irritation. At Cucullu Aesthetics, we take every preventative measure to prevent purging; however, it’s not out of the realm of possibilities.
After Your Facial
• Post-Peel Care: Our peels are superficial (no downtime) but powerful for treating fine lines, pigmentation, and skin texture. After receiving a peel:
Avoid direct sun exposure for 72 hours.
Wear broad-spectrum sunscreen daily.
Avoid excessive heat (steam rooms, saunas, workouts) for 24 hours.
Do not wear makeup immediately after your treatment to avoid clogging pores.
To allow your skin to recover, avoid active ingredients (retinol, retinoids, or chemical exfoliants) for 72 hours.
• No waxing, shaving, or active ingredients (like retinol, AHAs, BHAs, or exfoliants) for 72 hours before and after your appointment to prevent skin sensitivity.
• Avoid sun exposure or tanning beds for 72 hours before your facial to minimize skin sensitivity.
If you have a special event coming up, we recommend you book your facial at least a week out before your event. This allows your skin to fully recover after your facial.
